Last year’s event exceeded our expectations in terms of turn out and funds raised. Over the course of the night, approximately 120 guests graced us with their presence and partied for the pooches! We raised over $6000 with both admission tickets and our raffle. Some of our donated prizes included a tour and tasting at a local brewery, Padres tickets, admission tickets to Disneyland, and a gift certificate for a pet photography session. Our great entertainment included 2 amazing cover bands and a great DJ, who kept the party going into the wee hours.
With the money we raised, we were able to take on some tougher medical cases last year, like our puppy Odin, who was severely injured by another dog and needed to have extensive treatment to regain his health, including an eye removal. We were also able to concentrate some funds on our media presence, which has certainly paid off. Once we attracted more of a following, we were able to secure more fosters, which of course led to more dogs being saved! At the time of last year’s event, The Rescued Dog was just getting started, and we had saved only a handful of dogs. As of this April, our total saved is just above the 200 mark! We gained a lot of momentum with the funds raised at Fiesta de Fido in 2014, and our goal is to make this event an annual thing!
This year expectations are high, as we have quite a night of food, music, and fun planned. Raffle prizes include a Stone Brewery private tour, Noon jewelry, Rock Canyon Ranch wine basket, and gift certificates for facials and massages and a pet photography session. We will have a fun taco truck, and repeat performances from the band Shiner and DJ Funkmaster Franks! Admission includes all the food and beverages you can eat and drink, and free raffle tickets for people who purchase their tickets online.
