Meet our very own Little Rascal puppy Jane! Jane and her litter mates were turned into the Humane Society of Imperial County as an accidental litter. These adorable lab-pitty mixes are smart, fun, and ready for their forever homes. Born approximately May 1st, 2017, these pups are a perfect age to start a new life with their forever families. Jane is a very independent little lady who loves to run around, explore, and swim in the doggie pool. Jane is also very smart and already has a few basic commands under her belt, including name recall, sit, and come. She’s also making great progress with her potty training. When it’s time to unwind, Jane loves a good belly rub from her humans, and she likes being held like a baby! We think she will top out at around 50 pounds when she’s full grown. If you would like to meet Jane, or any of the Little Rascal pups, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/

What could be more adorable than a litter of American Bully mix puppies? Well, a litter of puppies with Lion King themed names. Sisters Nala and Serabi, along with their brothers Hakuna, Matata, and Scar, came to TRD in August 2017 from an accidental litter. Their mother is a white german shepherd, and the father is an American Bully. At 10 weeks of age as of early August 2107, Nala is already 15 lbs. We expect her to be in the 50-60 pound range full grown. She has a beautiful cream colored coat, which makes her stand out from her siblings. According to her foster mom, Nala is fun and fearless, and loves to explore, and also wrestle with her sister Serabi and her other canine foster siblings. Nala has been working on her house training and her crate training. This little lady is smart, and ready for some basic training with her new forever family. Nala will be a perfect fit for a family that is looking to adopt a young pup and is willing to work on his house/potty training, and leash walking in return for unlimited and unwavering puppy love and loyalty. If you would like to meet Nala, please fill our an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/

Adorable Gracie is one of TRD's latest recruits who came from the Imperial County Shelter in July 2017. She is a loving and sweet poodle mix and at about a year old, she is full-grown at a petite 13 pounds, which makes her an ideal companion for any living situation. Gracie has been described as fur ball of energy by her foster mom and will thrive in a home where she gets to express her energy. Given her rough life so far, Gracie has not had much training yet and is still learning how to be a well-behaved dog. She is almost crate trained (she sleeps in a crate by herself at night) and is working on her house training. She can be easily over-excited, especially when meeting new people. She is learning better ways to greet people and her forever family will want to continue this training. (Every adoption with TRD comes with a complimentary training session with our resident trainer!) Gracie occasionally begs for attention from her humans and, like most doggos, she loves getting cuddles and belly rubs from them. Overall Gracie is total people person and according to her foster mom, she would prefer if you held her and let her lay in your lap all day long. Gracie is a smart dog and in just a few short weeks in her new home she has picked up a few basic commands and is working on learning more. She has also possibly never been on a leash before and is learning leash walking seemingly for the first time. Gracie is good with other dogs in her foster home but needs slow introductions when meeting new dogs. With proper training and patience, Gracie can go a long way from her rough start. Gracie has also been determined as not cat-friendly, so she is a better fit in a family without any cats at home. Gracie would be perfect fit for a family looking for an petite, energetic dog and a forever family that can provide an outlet for her zoomies and continue her training. If you would like to meet Gracie, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/

Sweet little Max and his brother Lucas came to TRD from the Humane Society of Imperial County. These adorable nuggets were born approximately 4/15/2017. We believe they are whippet-chihuahua-terrier mixes and will be fairly diminutive when they are full grown, in the 10 to 15 pound range. Max and Lucas are typical puppies, playful and naturally affectionate with each other and their humans. They have taken to being crated and are learning about house training and other basic manners. If you are looking for a smart and sweet puppy to train up from the very beginning, Max might be your guy! If you would like to meet Max or his brother Lucas, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/
