Adorable Nena was rescued in Tijuana by a good Samaritan and brought to San Diego to find her second chance at life. Nena was rescued alongside her canine sibling and is very playful with him. Nena has a sweet and shy personality in new situations, but once she warms up, she's a lot of fun! She loves a good romp at dog beach. She is also good on the leash. She is curious on walks and likes to move around, but she does not pull. Nena is very friendly with people, and likes other dogs too, as long as she is given time to introduce herself and be properly introduced in return. Nena is about 4 years old as of April 2017. It's a great age for her to start her new life with her forever family; she's past all the puppy stuff but still has a lifetime of love to share. Nena weighs in at around 20 pounds, which is a great size for almost any living situation. If you would like to meet Nena, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/

Tiberius, aka Captain Kirk, is about as typical as you can get for a lab puppy. This fun little guy was surrendered to TRD when his owners realized that they weren't cut out to be puppy parents. Their loss is our gain, as adorable Tiberius keeps us all laughing with his silly puppy antics. He loves his dog toys, and if one isn't handy, he will settle for a shoe, a purse, or anything else nearby. His foster mom is working on that with him! Tiberius is very playful and loves a good romp with his canine foster brother. He is a little too interested in the resident cat, and he doesn't seem to take the hint when she's not happy with him, so we recommend a home with no kitties. Other than that, Tiberius is pretty smart, and in a short time with his foster family has already learned sit and shake. He has also mastered crate training, and is nearly perfect with his house training.Tiberius is pretty independent and is able to entertain himself when his humans are busy. He is a lovable, huggable guy though, and definitely values quality time with his human pals. Tiberius is already a big guy at 4 months old as of April 2017. We believe he will be on the bigger side for a lab when he's full grown, in the 70 to 80 pound range. Because of his size and his puppy ways, we think he would do best with older children. This fun guy is definitely a diamond in the "ruff" looking for a fun-loving, active family who will make him a true member of the pack. If you would like to meet Tiberius, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/

  • Australian Shepherd, Labrador Retriever
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
  • Spayed/Neutered
Mango and her adorable siblings Buttercup and Darby came to TRD from the Humane Society of Imperial County. These adorable puppies are shepherd-mountain dog mixes who are 4 months old as of March 2017. These pups are 20 pounds and growing! We aren't sure exactly how big they will be full grown, but they will be big! It's possible they will be in the 65 to 80 pound range as adults. Mango can be shy when meeting new people and dogs. Mango and her foster mom have been working with a trainer to overcome her fearful nature. Mango's adoption will include a complimentary training session from our trainer to help Mango get on the right paw with her new family. Mango's foster mom reports that although Mango likes to be in the same room as her human, she does settle down quickly in her crate or pen. Mango has a fun, playful side, loves most toys, and is responding well to house training. Mango is the most affectionate of her siblings. Her forever family should be ready to be showered with love from this sweet girl. If you would like to meet Mango, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.https://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/
