What is your adoption fee and what does that include?

Our adoption fee is $350 for puppies, $250 for adult dogs, $150 for seniors.  All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, treated for fleas, seen by a veterinarian, and evaluated by our trainer before adoption.

Why are your fees so high?

RescueCost

The Rescued Dog is a non profit public charity that is not funded or subsidized by any state or federal agency.  We rely solely on adoption fees, donations, and fundraising efforts to keep our mission up and running.  100 % of the adoption fee goes towards our rescue expenses which includes: transportation from high-kill shelters, food, veterinary care, medication, training, and other basic essentials to keep the rescue dogs healthy, well balanced, and ready for their forever homes.

Where do your dogs come from?

Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Southern California.  Sadly, highly adoptable dogs of all breeds and ages are euthanized daily due to overpopulation, lack of subsidized spay/neuter clinics, and inadequate funding.  With the help of volunteers and fosters, it is our mission to save as many adoptable dogs as possible.

Where are you located?

At the present time, we are a foster based organization.  This means we do not have a kennel or main facility.  With fundraising and donations, we hope to have a facility to house more dogs in the near future.  But for now, our dogs are spoiled by our foster families.
